Apr 24, 2015A firefighter who suffered serious burns to most of his body after falling through a roof into a burning building. He's latest operation involved a medical treatment called negative pressure wound therapy(NPWT), which uses a vacuum to draw fluid out of the wounds.
NPWT is an integrated wound management system for use in acute and chronic wounds. NPWT benefits include rapid wound granulation, epithelialisation and contraction, reduction of dressing changes, reduced infection risk and control of exudate.The reduction of wound dressing change not only decreased treatment costs but released patient's uncomfortable.
